Cudeman La Marinera: Nautical Tradition and Safety in Walnut Wood
An heir to the classic designs that have graced ship decks for decades, Cudeman's La Marinera is a piece that has won over thousands of users with its honesty and robustness. It's no coincidence that it's a bestseller; it's a knife that understands marine and hunting environments, where the safety of a blunt tip and the warmth of natural materials make a difference in daily use.
Why this knife is right for you
- Safety in motion: Its parrot's beak tip prevents accidental punctures if the piece falls to the ground or is used on unstable surfaces, a historical characteristic of sailor's knives.
- High-performance cutting: Despite its traditional focus, it features our most advanced steel to ensure a durable and aggressive edge.
- Refined aesthetics: It is manufactured with an internal rivet in the spring that conceals mechanical elements, offering superior visual cleanliness and a luxurious finish.
- Ergonomics and lightness: At only 80 grams, it is the perfect tool to carry in your pocket without being a burden, offering total control thanks to its balanced design.
Steel and edge performance
For this version of La Marinera, we have selected Böhler n690co steel, the most premium material we work with in Albacete. With a hardness of 60/61 HRc, this steel offers exceptional edge retention and very high oxidation resistance. You can trust that its cutting capacity will remain firm against ropes, fibrous materials, or field tasks without failing, allowing for noble resharpening when necessary.
Construction and resistance
Manufactured entirely in our facilities, this model uses a back lock system that provides structural solidity typical of a professional tool. The handle is anchored using a steel pin, ensuring an eternal union between the scales and the chassis. It is a piece designed to work with precision, although its tip geometry is optimized for cutting and not for prying.
Handle and control in real conditions
The handle is made of polished walnut with an elegant red spacer. This noble wood not only provides unmatched warmth to the touch, but its polished finish highlights the natural grain of the wood, making each piece unique. Its ergonomic design allows the hand to rest naturally, offering a firm and comfortable grip that prevents fatigue during continuous use.
Sheath and portability
This model includes a brown leather sheath with reference 605-C. As is standard at Cudeman, it is a self-manufactured sheath, designed specifically for this model in our leather goods workshops to ensure a perfect and secure fit. In addition, it has a lanyard hole, an indispensable detail to secure the knife and prevent accidental loss in difficult environments.
Use scenarios
- Nautical environment and fishing: Ideal for cutting ropes and nets with total safety for the user and the vessel thanks to its parrot's beak tip.
- Everyday Carry (EDC): A discreet, elegant, and very functional knife that elegantly solves any daily cutting need.
- Collecting: A modern reinterpretation of a historical classic with high-end materials and artisanal finishes.
Care and maintenance
- To preserve the natural beauty of the walnut, it is recommended to store the piece in a dry place and never wet it under the tap.
- After contact with humid or saline environments, clean the blade with a soft, dry cloth to preserve the satin finish of the steel.
- Periodically apply a drop of light oil to the pivot and the spring mechanism to ensure that deployment and locking always function smoothly.
- Keep the locking mechanism free of dirt or debris to ensure optimal and audible safety engagement.
La Marinera by Cudeman is the perfect meeting point between naval history and modern engineering; a reliable tool made to last a lifetime.
