Cudeman Bushcrafter: Strength in green G10 from Böhler; where hand merges with forest
Venturing into the wilderness requires equipment that responds without hesitation when conditions get tough. Born in 2019 from the second major alliance with Grupo BS9, following in the footsteps of the successful Querqus, this bushcraft knife has been entirely manufactured in Albacete to offer you relentless reliability. It's not just a piece of metal; it's a tool designed to make wood management, shelter building, or fire preparation precise and safe tasks.
When you hold the 206-GV model, you immediately perceive a perfect balance that eliminates any feeling of heaviness. Its geometry is calculated to transfer all your force to the cut, minimizing effort and maximizing productivity in camp, giving you the mental confidence that your main blade won't let you down.
Why this Cudeman is right for you
- Relentless wood processing: Thanks to its convex Scandinavian grind, the attack angle penetrates aggressively yet controllably, achieving perfect shavings without the blade getting stuck.
- Immunity to extreme weather: The high-density synthetic scales repel water, blood, or mud, ensuring your grip never fails, no matter how adverse the scenario.
- Unbreakable solidity: The 5mm thick blade runs through the entire handle, creating a steel backbone capable of withstanding the demands of fieldwork.
- Versatile tip: Its drop-point morphology combines powerful piercing ability with the subtlety needed for making small notches or fine carving work.
Steel and edge performance
The blade comes to life through Böhler N690Co steel, hardened to achieve a hardness of 60/61 HRc. In practice, this translates into an astonishing ability to keep the edge "alive" after carving logs or delimbing dry wood. Its cobalt-enriched alloy gives it high corrosion resistance, while its satin finish reduces reflections and facilitates cleaning.
Construction and strength
Based on a full tang architecture, this model eliminates any weak points in the union between the blade and the handle. It is a solid block designed to transmit kinetic energy directly. Its long-term durability depends on consistent use that avoids disproportionate side prying on any material and knowing how to care for and use an edge of these characteristics.
Handle and control in real conditions
The handle is clad in green G10, visually contrasted with a black spacer. G10 is a fiberglass and resin laminate pressed at high temperatures that does not expand, contract, and is practically insensitive to impacts. Secured with flat aluminum rivets, the handle hugs the contour of the hand without creating unwanted friction zones, allowing maximum pressure to be exerted without early fatigue or annoying blisters, even if you wear thick gloves.
Sheath and portability
A piece of this caliber deserves appropriate transport. Therefore, retention is handled by a black leather sheath of our own manufacture, carefully stitched in our workshops to ensure a snug and secure fit. Depending on your adventurer profile, you can choose between two equipment variants:
- 206-GV: This option includes the multi-position black sheath for light and simple carrying, ideal if you prefer to move quickly and without excessive bulk.
- 206-GVC: Complete multi-position sheath with leather loops with rivets that includes a complete kit (leather attachment, sharpening stone, signal mirror, fire steel, and 2.8 meters of paracord), designed for those seeking total autonomy.
Usage scenarios
- Autonomous survival: Ideal for starting fires by striking the fire steel, building traps, or preparing the overnight area.
- Carving and pure bushcraft: The control offered by its blade width allows carving spoons, pickaxes, or bowls with great dexterity.
- Outdoor: A very sharp edge for fine cutting. If you're looking to baton, this isn't your best choice due to its convex scandi grind.
Care and maintenance
- Wash the tool with water and neutral soap after use to remove corrosive resins or organic residues.
- Be sure to thoroughly dry the steel before inserting it into its sheath; the inside of the leather can retain ambient moisture.
- G10 does not require any hydration or oils; simply brush it dry to remove ingrained dirt.
- Periodically lubricate the blade with a drop of protective oil to keep the steel's properties intact.
- Occasionally check that the lanyard hole is clean of hardened mud so you can attach your safety cord.
- Keep the leather sheath away from extreme heat sources (such as direct embers from a fire) to prevent it from cracking.
